Dear Reader,
My name is Aditya Subramanian and this is my humble little blog. At the time of this post, I'm a freshman at Carleton College, and I have no idea what I want to study. I do know I have a passion for sports, and will argue about it all night if it means getting my point across. I also enjoy writing, and I figured that if Skip Bayless can get paid to write about how he changed the outcome of the Patriots-Broncos game by standing in his lucky spot, I can let the world know about my insights as well. I fully understand that most of this content has probably been written about before, and without large amounts of easily manipulable data at my fingertips, I really can't provide the type of analysis I would like to, yet I still intend to voice my thoughts through this blog. If nothing else, it's a way to do something useful over winter break. I guess we'll see how it turns out.
As a sports fan, I of course have my allegiances. I grew up in Iowa City, Iowa, and as such am a die hard Iowa Hawkeye fan. Even while living in India, I would stay up all night watching college football. My favorite sport, however, is basketball. Despite the fact that my Hawkeyes have been terrible for half a decade, I still supported them, and now it feels good to be relevant again. I'm also a huge Mavericks fan, a team which has had tremendous success over the last decade. I'm a Miami Dolphins fan, as well as a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Yes, that is a fairly random assortment of teams, but I grew up in a town with no single allegiance and with parents who didn't support a team either, so 9 year old me had the pick of the lot. At least I didn't choose to be a lolJets fan. While I support these teams, I try to watch and read about a wide variety of teams, I will watch these teams more than any others, so I will tend to have more educated opinions about them. Thus I will probably write about them more than any other specific teams. That being said, I hope that most of my posts are about league wide issues, so as to relate to everyone. Furthermore, these type of articles tend to be more interesting.
If you've read this far, you;re either a friend of mine looking for something to mock me for or a very interested (or curious) reader. Regardless of which you are, please know that I am always willing to talk. If you want to argue about something that I mention in an article, by all means comment or email me, and I'll likely respond. If you want me to read over something or want my help, again, feel free to email me. My email address is aditya.subramanian14@gmail.com. Thanks for reading.
- Aditya
